A few hundred feet from my house is a very old, small grave yard containing graves from the 1830’s. It sits on a ridge that was probably over-cultivated in its early years leaving only three or four inches of topsoil. The people that are buried there must have thought a couple of hundred years into the future from time to time as they scraped by only to conclude that life was too hard there before picking up and moving further west, much like the migrant workers who left Mexico in the 1990s. They must have intended to pass love and goodness on down through the ages.
